These gemstone specimens boast a metallic plated finish, caused when the stone is plated with a metal. To start, the stone of choice is selected, then cut and polished until it is at a “finished” state. These are then treated via an electrostatic process whereby the stones are put into a vacuum and charged. Heat is applied. The plating metal of choice is then put into the vacuum and it "clings" to the stone. The plating metal when charged and treated in a vacuum environment will combine with the stone, giving it an entirely unique quality of iridescence or colour.
Spiritually, plated gemstones are believed to amplify the already present properties of the original stones, as well as bring harmony and strength.
